Reading to Learn

We believe that reading is the key to lifelong learning and intellectual growth. Reading to Learn aims to broaden students’ knowledge, deepen their thinking, and enrich their understanding of the world.

To nurture this spirit, the school organises a variety of reading promotion programmes and activities, such as “Meet the Author” and “We Invite You to Read a Good Book”, to enhance students’ reading skills and humanistic literacy. The library and English Corner also host regular reading-sharing sessions, where both teachers and students exchange insights and cultivate a genuine love of reading.

To support e-learning, students are encouraged to read anytime and anywhere through online platforms such as HyRead and Library CEO. A self-service book cabinet on campus also provides convenient access to a wide range of books.

Every year, the school holds a Reading Week under different themes, during which various subjects recommend engaging reading materials, and both teachers and students share their reflections in the library. A Reading Stamp Reward Scheme further motivates students to take an active role in reading activities and develop lasting reading habits.

Reading elements are integrated into both language and non-language subjects, encouraging students to learn through reading. Students are also given opportunities to apply subject knowledge to deepen their understanding of texts and connect learning with real-life contexts.
